New Year Resolutions and 2010 goals
The general direction I'd like to take is improving my wushu and fitness level in general. More specifically, I want to
(1) Do tunbei haodun or Ba Duan Tsing every day
(2) do a little chzhuangun daily
(3) train semi-weekly and get a solid hang of mutsuan
(4) return to previous habits that I found to work well for me: learning poetry daily, using the stairs rather than the elevator, solving Go problems daily.
As for my 2010 goal, I found an expression a few days ago that I liked a lot, "stretch goals", i.e. goals that are attainable but one would have to exert oneself to reach. That's what I want to do in 2010, in addition to my resolutions:
(1) Play 500 hours of poker. This doesn't seem a lot, but it's not going to be easy for me, considering I also try to study the game and work on my game.
(2) Become a reg at the $55 HUSNG level.
(3) Save $Y1 (this is a significantly more ambitious goal than in 2009).
(4) Learn to drive.
(5) Increase my strength: 50 push-ups, 50 Hindu push-ups ("Iron bull plows the earth"), 15 pull-ups, 10 one-leg squats.
